Silicon Valley law firm Fenwick serves clients in the technology and biotech industries (among others). They engaged Threestory Studio to help with the development of publications reporting detailed data on practices and activity in those industries, often benchmarking Silicon Valley firms against companies nationwide. The reports have included data on Gender Diversity, Corporate Governance Practices/Proxy Season Results, and Technology and Life Sciences IPO Activity. For each of these, Fenwick has collected the data and asked us to help them visualize it.
The nature of the data caused us to look at a number of different ways of showing trends, distributions and patterns. The reports are updated annually (or quarterly, in some cases), so developing methodologies that made it possible to regenerate these custom graphics with new data helped to streamline the ongoing publication process.
